and now...
for the personal reviews... dun dun dun!
my friend, my sister, my boyfriend, and i decided to try out a lip balm or two from them!
i mean c'mon, after reading and seeing all they had to offer,
how could we resist?!

VEGAN FORMULA - A LITTLE S & M
"a little Sorbet (natural vanilla extract) & a little Mandarin orange essential oil.
sweetened with stevia. (aka mandarin orange sorbet)"
reviewed by maria and corey

taste & smell:
maria - very strong mandarin scent, which i looove. as for the taste, it has just a touch of sweetness. i like it. it reminds me of weak orange kool-aid.
corey - i can smell the mandarin and vanilla. ::pretends to chew the tube of lip balm:: no really... tastes like a creamsicle.
texture:
maria - a little too soft... and a wee bit oily. i would be afraid it would melt in my bag. when applying, you have to lightly dab it on or it is all over the place. it is very moisturizing though. note: the oiliness does absorb eventually and you don't even notice it anymore.
corey - greasy, but moisturizing. it falls apart so easy! you can't put too much pressure on it, and you can't have very much sticking out of the tube-- if you do, you will lose it in chunks all over your lips.
longevity:
maria - it lasts around 30 minutes. the scent lasts a really long time, though. mmm oranges.
corey - longevity is about average for a lip balm. the yummy smell outlasts the moisture.
bottom line:
maria - i like the flavor. it is moisturizing, but you have to be careful not to press too hard, cause it practically melts on contact... maybe it should have come in a squeeze tube! i love that the scent lingers. i also love that the formula is vegan. i would give it a higher score if it wasn't so fragile. i will keep it on my nightstand for bedtime use-- it makes a perfect nighttime lip treatment. overall, i think most vegans will like it.
corey - i do not like how soft it is, but it is a good chap stick. i agree that this would have a much higher score if it was a little bit more durable.

overall score:
 3.5/5

REGULAR FORMULA - MANGO SORBET
"a yummy blend of mango, raspberry, & lemon!"
reviewed by kim

taste & smell:
it doesn't taste like the description. it tastes like bubblegum. it has a nice smell-- it smells like grapes and mangoes. fruit salad.
texture:
very smooth and creamy... i would use this every day. i like it.
longevity:
this balm lasted on a windy motorcycle run-- i am surprised! my lips are still soft and moisturized and its about 40 degrees on the bike!  and i can still smell it and taste it.
bottom line:
it passes the motorcycle test. it has a subtle flavor-- i wish it was more mango-ish, since mangoes are my favorite. it is your nice, basic balm. i would definitely purchase and use my lip stuff again, but maybe a different flavor-- there are plenty more to choose from! i loved the texture. i will recommend to my friends.

overall score:
 3.5/5

"cinnamon, brown sugar, and buttery toast. stevia sweetened."
reviewed by mark

taste & smell:
it smells very appealing. in my opinion, it smells like french toast. others around me have said it smells like caramel coffee and butterscotch. the taste is kind of like cinnamon toast crunch cereal.
texture:
it's kind of greasy and you can easily put way too much on. you basically only have to apply just a tiny bit. i "dab" the lip balm on my lips then rub them together. i think i would prefer it more if it wasn't so greasy and had more of a smooth texture.
longevity:
come to think of it, my lip balm reminded me of "fruit stripe" gum. it tasted great for like half an hour, then nothing lol. the smell lasts for several hours. the actual texture lasts for about an hour, then your lips are dry again, but for some reason you still get a hint of cinnamon flavor on your lips.
bottom line:
in conclusion, this is an OK lip balm. like i said, i would like it a lot more if it wasn't so greasy. the flavor does kind of interfere with foods and/or drinks which can be kind of weird/gross. i would recommend the website to a friend because they have over 400 flavors and the price is reasonable. you can mix and match flavors. i would buy again but i don't think i would get the lip balm with stevia (stevia allows you to taste the flavor) i also love the fact that the company is cruelty free. it's great for vegans and vegetarians because most lip balm/chapstick contains "lanolin".

overall score:
 3/5

no website description  -- it's a mystery!
reviewed by maria, kim, and corey

taste & smell:
maria - smells like... soda.  soda and a weird chemical... like antifreeze haha! this is vanilla antifreeze soda cake scent. the taste... uhm... it tastes like tums or mylanta. it is definitely a mystery.
kim - smells like cream soda and... no... smells like repsol, synthetic motorcycle oil... yeh, that is exactly what it smells like. hm, there is no taste. i guess it doesn't have stevia or strong flavor oils in it. just plain with a pleasant smell. (yes, i think repsol smells good!)
corey - i think it is more like a root beer scent. ew. it tastes like somebody put battery acid in root beer or rubbed it in the inside of a hot light bulb. i think the flavor is root beer-scented poison.
texture:
maria - smooth and creamy. glides nicely. no lumpiness or waxiness or greasiness.
kim - best texture out of the balms.
corey - not greasy at all. great texture-- it didn't break when i applied it. not greasy or waxy at all.
all lip balms should feel like this.
longevity:
maria - lasts about 45 minutes. the scent didn't last as long as the s&m lip balm.
kim - lasted on a motorcycle run. texture is still good, my lips are still soft. protects well in cold weather. it exceeded my expectations.
corey - lasted longer than the others... i just wish it was a different flavor that was lingering on my lips ha.
bottom line:
maria - it was fun guessing what it was, but i hope next time i get a better mystery flavor! i love that it is a free perk with every order if you add it to your cart. gonna give this a high score cause it was a blast.
kim - i really like the fact that it was a mystery flavor, although this particular mystery flavor was kinda odd. i would definitely get another tube!
corey - i don't really care for this particular smell/flavor, but i would try a different mystery one. i liked that it was a mystery tube... pretty neat. that makes me like it more. i liked the texture of this one a lot.

overall score:
 4/5

LIP GLOSS FORMULA - PANCAKES & SYRUP
"yummy buttery pancakes topped with maple syrup! stevia sweetened."
reviewed by maria, kim and corey

taste & smell:
maria - it definitely has a buttery smell... yummy smellllllling, sooo appealing. i like the taste a lot! its buttery and not too maple syrup-y. its just a little sweet. perfect.
kim - smells like mrs. butterworth's. oh yeh, i like this flavor! it is like a perfect breakfast at ihop. yum.
corey - smells like butterscotch. makes me want pancakes. tastes great... like butterscotch pancakes haha. i am craving sweets now. this is so good... okay, now i want a bacon and eggs flavor to put on top of it. breakfast!
texture:
maria - perfect for a basic lip gloss. just enough shine. not sticky at all. glides over so smooth.
kim - smooth like glass. not sticky or lumpy.
corey - i am a guy, and i don't normally wear lip gloss. so all i can say is that it is really smooth without feeling greasy.
longevity:
maria - lasts about 30 minutes. the smell lingers much longer.
kim - doesn't last through a motorcycle ride, but lasts otherwise.
corey - oops. i licked it all off, sorry, i couldn't help it!
bottom line:
maria - still licking my lips. i want another tube. i'm recommending this to everyone. i really like the packaging, too. its not in a glass tube-- i can't break this one! i love that the gloss formula is vegan, too! this is high up on my list of favorite lip glosses.
kim - oh yeh, i would buy this definitely. its smooth, delicious, and so moisturizing. i agree-- the packaging is really sturdy and i can take this on my motorcycle without smashing the bottle.
corey - does this come in guy formula? you better buy another tube, maria. your lips should always taste like this.

overall score:
 5/5
